Ron DiMauro, AIA NCARB

Principal Architect, Founder

Ron has been a practicing Architect for over 25 years. He began in the construction field at 18 years old as a carpenter for his father’s design-build firm. He gained valuable insight into the construction trade by beginning by framing a house to finishing with the interiors trim work. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island in Landscape Architecture and Fine Arts.

Ron went on to attend the Boston Architectural Center in Boston, MA for his Architectural thesis. While he was there, he also worked for numerous award winning firms such as Royal Barry Wills Architects, Hammer Keifer and Todd Architects, and Sasaki Associates before becoming the principal designer at his father’s design-build firm, FC DiMauro & Associates. Together, they designed and built over 160 homes together. Ron has been a registered Architect in the State of Rhode Island since 1994.

Ron wanted to become an Architect because shelter is one of the major elements that humans need.  He knew that if he could gain his clients trust in the most sincerest way, then he could connect with them on such a deep level and that connection would result in the highest quality design possible, one that would not only provide them with a safe and secure haven but would also connect with their soul and give them a peaceful feeling that is hard to describe. He knew if done right, this sensitivity for his clients lifestyle needs would change their lives forever.

In 1996, Ron founded his own Architecture practice. Success moved him to Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island, where he continues to design homes and estates for clients. In 2003, Ron’s firm won the coveted Palladio Award, an award given to Architects by other Architects, who exemplify the best proportions of the Greek and Roman principles. This award set his firm apart and brought them national recognition.

Since then, he has continued to win awards and recognition for his designs, including the International Property Award for Best Single Residence Architecture, Rhode Island, USA in 2018.  Ron’s team has been with him for a number of years and they all work together incredibly well. It is truly a collaborative approach resulting in the highest quality designs and construction document sets in the industry for residential architecture.

Ron’s other passions include graphic design, product design, tennis, surfing and paddle boarding. Ron holds a patent for a home bulk-head product as well as for a surf product called the Wax Buddy. Ron is passionate about design, whether it is designing simple products or creating incredible multi-building estates.
