John Tumino
Senior Project Architect
John Tumino, a senior project architect, joined DiMauro Architects in 2001 and is involved in all aspects of the firm's work. He especially enjoys taking designs from construction drawings through construction administration, while problem solving with engineers and contractors alike.
John is extremely knowledgeable of site restrictions and regulatory agencies including Coastal Resource Management Council (CRMC), Department of Environmental Management (DEM), FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) as well as many of the town regulations, which often affect the oceanfront homes that the firm designs. Since this is a critical step to the success of the project, John advises on all projects within the office.
In addition, he enjoys collaborating and training less experienced team members on the complexities of construction detailing and structural design.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, John graduated from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI where he received his Bachelor of Architecture. After graduation, John worked at Bates Masi Architects in Sag Harbor, NY before moving to Newport, Rhode Island where he currently lives with his family.
